What do you need to set on the Seiko Presage with calibre 6R24 (day, date, power reserve)?

Date is wrong

Set up the date on the Seiko Presage with calibre 6R24 (day, date, power reserve)

  1. 1

    Crown to the first click

Not between 9:30 pm and 2:00 am. The seconds hand keeps running.

⚠️ Avoid 21:30–02:00 on the dial. Seiko calls this the no-setting period: the day and date will not move, though turning the crown does no harm.
  2. 2

    Turn counter-clockwise: date hand

One click = one day. After 31 the hand jumps back to 1.

After February and 30-day months the hand shows 31 on the 1st. One click counter-clockwise fixes it.
  3. 3

    Push the crown in

Screw it down again if it screws.

Day is wrong

Set the day of the week on the Seiko Presage with calibre 6R24 (day, date, power reserve)

  1. 1

    Check the clock first

The day and date can't be changed from 9:30 pm to 2:00 am. Turning the crown then does no harm, but nothing moves.

⚠️ Avoid 21:30–02:00 on the dial. Seiko calls this the no-setting period: the day and date will not move, though turning the crown does no harm.
  2. 2

    Crown to the first click

Unscrew first if the crown screws down. The seconds hand keeps running.

  3. 3

    Turn clockwise: day hand

Two clicks = one day. Don't leave the hand between two days. Past Saturday it jumps back to Sunday, so turn slowly there.

  4. 4

    Push the crown in

Screw it down again if it screws.

Time is wrong

Set the time on the Seiko Presage with calibre 6R24 (day, date, power reserve)

  1. 1

    Second click at 0 seconds

Pull out when the seconds hand reaches 0. It stops.

  2. 2

    Set the time, checking AM/PM

Go slightly past, then bring the minute hand back a little behind and advance it to the time. If the date flips at noon, you are 12 hours out.

  3. 3

Push in on the time signal

The seconds hand restarts at once.
